Chemical warfare materiels (CWM) are chemical munitions and chemical agents in non-munitions configurations that were expended during live-fire, training or testing and are known or suspected to be present at a site. Such CWM is not part of DoD's stockpile demilitarization program.
CWM sites are located on Army active installations, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) sites, and Formally Used Defense Sites (FUDS). Only recently has technology become available for both the safe identification and onsite destruction of CWM.
USA successfully completed CWM projects as a prime contractor at Harmony Church, Ft. Benning, GA and Former Chemical Warfare Service Field Trials Site and Air to Ground Bombing Range, Withlacoochee, FL.
USA also provided CWM support as a subcontractor at multiple sites including Chanute AFB, IL; Lowry Jeep Training Area, CO; Former Camp Crowder, MO; Former Camp Sibert, AL; Brooksville Army Airfield, FL; Fort Segarra, Virgin Islands; and participated in pre-operational evaluations and inspections for final approval to commence intrusive investigations.
